Craft Project: Origami Glitter Cranes

Over the weekend I've been working on more Christmas ornaments. Above is a picture of the results, Origami Glitter Cranes. I've had this idea for awhile now but just finally got a chance to test it out. The craft came out just as I envisioned (love when that happens). The cranes are surprisingly quite elegant considering they're made with paper, glitter and glue.

Supplies:
Gold and Silver Paper - I used wrapping paper.
Gold and Silver Glitter
Glue
Acrylic Gloss Spray - can find at most craft stores
Paint brush or foam brush

Anniversary paper: Rethinking Paper Lucky Stars

Remember lucky stars? You would make hundreds of them to fill a jar and give them to your friends. Why not reuse this simple craft for other things. Fill small gift boxes with them instead of tissue. This looks great for small things like jewelry. Use the stars for embellishments on cards. I made gift tags (pictured above) out of the paper one uses to make the stars. The paper comes in all kinds of great prints and phrases. Below is a picture of how the paper comes packaged. Usually costs about a dollar a package (30 strips of paper). Directions below

Gift presents: Music Sheet Stars

I was looking through the new Pottery Barn (PB) catalog when I stumbled upon something that looked very familiar, paper stars. And they weren't just any paper stars but over sized lucky stars. Did anyone else catch that? Every year PB comes out with something to fill their vases and apothecary jars. This year one of the fillers was over-sized lucky stars.

Some of you might remember I wrote a tutorial for basic lucky stars long ago. So, I'm resurrecting the tutorial along with an explanation on how to make these music sheet stars. For the most part the process is the same but there are a few adjustments.
