2 skeins – “Twinkle” (light blue, light pink, light yellow or light green) Red Heart Soft Baby – 3 ply sport weight – 6 oz/170 g (or other variegated yarn)
Size 15 circular needles
Note: This baby blanket is made knitting two strands of yarn at the same time on a large size 15 needle.
DIRECTIONS
Cast on 8 stitches.
Row 1: Purl one row.
Row 2: K4, YO, knit to the end of the row.
Row 3: K4, YO, purl to the lst 4 sts. K4.
Repeat rows 2-3 until you have reached HALF the desired size for your baby blanket. End on a purl row. This pattern is very flexible. You can determine when to start the decreases based upon how big you want the finished product to be.

DECREASE
Row 1: K3, K2tog, YO, K2tog, knit to the end of the row.
Row 2: K3, K2tog, YO, K2tog, purl to the last 4 sts. K4.
Continue decreasing until 8 sts left. Bind off.
You can either knit this baby blanket in garter stitch or stockinette stitch. It’s shown here in the stockinette stitch. If you want to do the garter stitch blanket, follow the same instructions, but only “knit to the end of the row” each time.
